I think her name is Honor.

Obviously I need practice in dealing with wigs, and in choosing a perspective that does not make it look like she has rag-rolled ringlets (say that, three times, fast!).

This post is primarily to show off Nekokoi’s mad skills when it comes to fitting. Here, with my current knitting in her exquisitely fashioned hands.

And just the hands.

Not even tempted.

I had just sufficient energy before bedtime last night, to take Jessica [still unnamed] out of her box and measure her torso for Nekokoi, who will make her a tunic from a handkerchief or bandanna, to cover her nakedness.

In responding to Nekokoi’s email this morning, I realized that I had not so much as glanced at SOOM’s current monthly doll. So I went over to their website, and the only things I liked were small bits of the costume which would be easy enough to replicate.

The current dolly projects are to find a permanent name for Blessing’s curvalicious sister and then to go stash diving for skirt fabric and yarn for a sweater. [Maybe that poison-green, unruly, allegedly-baby-alpaca laceweight? I might be able to tame it if I knit it up in stockinette on 000 needles.]

Jessica’s here!

She’s here, she’s safe, and I was up way too late last night. No pictures until I make a blouse for her.

I am (apparently) a dolly drama magnet!

I refreshed the tracking screen every hour or so, all day, and about 6:30 the screen changed: delivery failed.

So I got in the car and drove into Dallas. Went to the big Post Office to find out where an EMS package would have gone, and I know which Post Office to contact tomorrow. I have their hours and their phone number written down.

I also went to my office building. They let me into my suite, just in case somebody from my office had checked in and put the delivery notice on the front desk or my own desk or in my mailbox. Nada. The log at the security desk also showed no deliveries since Friday, whereas the updated status at the Post Office showed that somebody had allegedly left a notice.

So at this point I dont know if the nice folks in Korea mis-typed the shipping label, or what. Good news is, this is my order, in my name, so it should be easier for me to get to the bottom of the mystery.

And maybe she will just get calmly, quietly delivered to the office tomorrow?

She's out of customs...

...and she’s heading this way!

“13:45 27-Nov-2009 (Korea time)”
“Departure from inward office of exchange”

So, I’m thinking she won’t make it to Dallas today, but almost certainly on Monday, which will save me an extra trip.

Warming up my “obsessively refresh screen” finger. Looks like I’ll be busy today. ♥

EID Yur

Nekokoi and Rorek, I took a look at their website this morning, and she’s lovely. I want to see her in the normal skin. And when I look at Luna, in the white skin version with the evening makeup and her face in three-quarter profile, I think she looks a bit like your baby sister.

As of this writing, Jessica is still stuck in customs, reason “other”. I’m trying not to refresh that page more than once an hour. I’m also hoping that “other” means they were closed for Thanksgiving and will be back at work shortly.

Blessing curls up with a good book while waiting for her sister to get here from Chicago.

Jessica’s in Chicago!

I have the tracking page up and am refreshing it every couple of hours. She’s over the pond and at the airport. One more think to be thankful for, today!
